No. If you would like to learn how to swing dance, many of our guests will be happy to teach you the basic steps.
This is a social environment that allows people to dance, drink, eat and socialize while listening to their favorite dance tunes from the 50s and 60s. There are tables and chairs near the dance floor where you can sit, eat and watch. And you don’t need to dance to have a great time.
Do I need to bring a dance partner?
No. You may come alone or come with friends. Many of our guests change dance partners many times throughout the night so everyone has a chance to dance with everyone else. We are considered the friendliest dance event in NYC so it’s easy to socialize and be part of the fun.
Is there a dress code?
No. Feel free to come in casual clothing that is comfortable to dance in. Some guests wear suits and dresses as well. If you enjoy dressing up in vintage or retro attire, come ready for pictures!
What is the age range?
All ages attend our dances! From 20’s to even 80’s! Our main crowd tends to be Baby Boomers but all are welcome.
How much are tickets?
We charge $25. cash for tickets. A $5. coupon is given at the door which can be used towards food or beverage. All tickets are purchased at the door.
Where are the dances located?
Our dances are held at Iguana located at 240 West 54th St (between Broadway and 8th Ave) in NYC. Full dinner menu and bar available. Nearby subways include: A, B, C, D, E, N, Q, R, W, 1 trains.
How often do the dances take place?

What kind of music do you play?
Two DJs play the hottest dance tunes from the 1950s and 1960s including Doo Wop, Motown, R&B, Soul, Rock & Roll and more!
Will there be a dance lesson during the event?
We do not have an official dance lesson, but if you are interested in learning, many of our friendly attendees will be happy to teach you the basic steps.
